In all honesty I hadn’t even heard of La Digue, when I booked a 3 day excursion to the remote Seychelles island.
What a surprise when I heard it was the home of one of the most beautiful and photographed beaches in the world – Anse Source d’Argent.
The island of La Digue is only accessible by boat and is without cars, which is extremely refreshing, adding to the island’s unique natural feel. In order to get from one side of the island to the other, you have few options, hike, horse and carriage or bike.
The road to Anse Source d’Argent is 10 minutes by bike from the main town, through an old family pension no less. It’s such an exquisite experience.
Anse Source d’Argent is not your usual beach, it’s a hidden wonder of perfection. Fine white powder sand with the most magnificent clear turquoise water. This beach is not the usual stretch of sand, but more a collection of beautiful coves with the only shade being from swaying palm trees. What really makes the beach a photographers dream and picture perfect is its prime differential – huge smooth granite boulders in both the sand and water.
The beach is literally a photographers dream! It’s something out of a fairytale. There are few marvels like it – and definitely somewhere I would recommend.
I understand that it is a photographers dream, what a beach!! Fantastic rocks, colours of them and the palmtrees and blue sky against that lovely water. Fantastic

Hi Lena. Yes it truly is a wonder. I have a go pro video I may add also when I have time does a pan aroma of the beach then dips into the water to see a curious trigger fish approaching

Those gorgeous photos highlight what makes this beach like no other. It’s also an extraordinary destination if you’re from the U.S.

Completely agreed. Some of these islands are sometimes overlooked from the states for the Pacific but are well worth the time and visit!

It certainly looks lovely, hopefully I get there one day. I’ll be returning to Europe later this year. It’s been about 20 years since my last trip there!
