Note to our Unborn

Hi – we haven’t met yet, but I am going to be your father.

That’s sounds so strange and so grown up – it’s actually quite a scary thing to say.

The inevitable realisation that we will soon meet has recently dawned on me, and as such I wanted to write you a few words.

You’re about to enter a family full of support and love.

Your mother and I will care for you, love you and do our very best for you.

As you will learn we have had many adventures, traveled to a number of countries, met some incredible people and experienced a host of a unbelievable experiences.

However you will be our greatest adventure… and together we will face a host of new adventures.

We will learn together, inspire one another and forge a bond that can not be broken.

There will be lots of joy, laughter, happiness, support and adventures. But honestly, there will also be pain, tears and fears to which we will work through together as a family.

We will be a family, and one day we hope to inspire you to embrace some of the adventures this world has to offer.

One day I hope you have even more incredible memories, that you can share with your family.

I can’t wait to meet you.

Love Dad x

  1. Congratulations!!!! When is the baby due? Yes, parenthood will change your life completely but in my opinion for the better. You will be amazed how much you truly, deeply love your child and showing him or her the world is amazing! So happy for you both! 🙂

    1. Ah thank you Nicole that is hugely appreciated. The child is due on the 28th but Megan has gestational diabetes so looks like we will be induced in two weeks. I am very excited but very scared all at the same time. I can’t wait to share my stories and experience and hope that they will love travel as much as us. A lot of new adventures coming up and we can’t wait. Thank you for the support I wrote this a while back and just wanted to get it out there…
