I enjoy a good trip to Vegas; it opens up a whole host of contrasting experiences. One such experience is a day-trip to see the incredible Grand Canyon, which is about a 5 hour drive from the glistening lights depending on which rim you want to visit. A bonus is that you usually drive over the Hoover Dam also… two iconic american features in one!
The Canyon is very well documented and probably one of the most iconic natural wonders in the entire world. Rumored to attract more than five million visitors a year – granted 80% of these are Americans, but still in my eyes is well worth the visit alone.
The Canyon is absolutely incredible, ranging from 277 miles long and 18 miles wide! That’s absolutely huge and contrary to popular belief it’s not the biggest in the world, or at least I don’t think it is (so many conflicting sources). All of that aside it is stunning, a complete wonder of nature…
I have been transfixed by this wonder on many occasions and still can not completely come to terms with its size and dramatic contrasting colours – every trip is a new Wandering Memory.
I’ll let the picture speak for themselves – Follow me today for more travel blogs and photos.
I hope i can be there some day. It is a marvel of nature!

I love the Grand Canyon! It is a magical place and you really get a sense of how big it is when you hike down into it. I would love to do the Rim to Rim hike someday.

Awesome! I’ve been fortunate to travel around much of the U.S., but the Grand Canyon is one place I have not yet made it to!

My brother worked there several summers in his young years and still hikes there in his fifties. I’ve been there once and could not agree with you more. It is a magical place.
